Description: This book contains new publications (typeset in LaTeX) of A. S. Eddington's books The Expanding Universe (1933), The Rotation of the Galaxy (1930) and Science and the Unseen World (1929). Although there have been significant advances in cosmology after the publication of the first two books, what justifies their new publication is that they provide first-hand and accessible (to a wider audience) explanation, by the father of modern theoretical astrophysics, of how the theory of the expanding Universe originated. Also, what additionally warrants the new publication of these books is Eddington's beautiful style of writing when he presents his views on a broad range of important issues such as the relationship between theory and experiment, science, scientific explanation, mind, consciousness, the unseen world, etc.
