My Minkowski Institute related research:

Not only that General Relativity has the clearest, simplest and most beautiful mathematical formulation, but also its predictions are so accurately confirmed by experience. Despite this, its known problems of singularities, of Quantum Gravity, and some apparent violations of causality, locality or realism, coming from Quantum Mechanics, make more and more researchers believe that spacetime should be seen as emergent from other theories. My research interest is to see how far we can go in solving these problems, and still keeping the general relativistic notion of spacetime. In particular, I proposed a treatment of the singularities without modifying the theory or replacing it with something else. Incidentally, my approach to singularities has a side effect of providing dimensional reduction effects conjectured in several approaches to perturbative Quantum Gravity. Another direction in which I am pushing the limits of general relativistic spacetime is Quantum Mechanics, where I am trying to make compatible the reality of spacetime with quantum nonlocality and contextuality.
